With the Kedal Mountain Festivals climaxing this weekend, we
thought you might like to know that 'Set In Stone', the latest film
from multi award-winning producers Al Lee and David Halsted is
showing no less than four times.
The film's a departure from earlier off the wall Lee / Halsted
productions in that it follows the climbing career of top Lakeland
climber Dave Birkett with footage of him climbing some of his hardest
routes and the first ascent of the desperately hard E9 6c 'Return of
the King' on Scafell's East buttress.
It'll be interesting to see what the duo's original eye brings to
the often turgid waters of climber-orientated film. And we'll be
carrying a full review next week.
If the online
trailer - above - is anything to go by, we're looking at
another Lee-Halstead classic laced with dry northern humour.
You can catch 'Set In Stone' at Kendal on Friday night Screen 1 at
19.10, Saturday morning Malt room at 10.20, Saturday afternoon theatre
at 14.10 and Sunday afternoon screen 1 at 14.10.
Lee and Halsted will be introducing the screenings along with Dave
Birkett himself. And if you can't wait, you can now buy the DVD
online at www.posingproductions.com.
