Stop press: there's only one day left in this month's photo competition - just time to clock in your final votes before someone's feet snuggle down into a welcome new pair of Bridgedale Trekker socks. At the moment, Keening looks set to head hillwards wearing the accolade of 'man with the newest socks' - we reckon his photo of Loch Etive at Dawn is well worth some new footwear. Some stunning photos have been added to the site this week though, so who knows?
The gallery's latest album is Allan Mac's Images, complete with four cracking images - whet your appetite below. Although this photo's pretty autumnal, there's a fair taste of winter in there as well, so if you're looking forward to some snowy walks it's well worth a peep.

Another album that's short and sweet is Paul Sammonds Glen Shiel - if ridges are your thing then you'll love it. Paul took this photo from Sgurr nan Conbhairean, on "one of those rare magical days when you climb up above the clouds". We'd like to have been there, but seeing the photo's pretty good as well.

While Paul Sammonds was up above the clouds, Richard Roworth was having an indigo time of it. He took this photo from Glyder Fach (Snowdon is the mountain at top right). It sounds like his evening climb was a bit of an epic in photographic terms - he managed to drop the camera 20 feet and broke the filter and filter holder, but the photos don't look too bad for all that! For more of his work, have a peep at the Wild Images album, for lots of brooding sky - or should that be 'Skye'?:-)

David Thompson's an old hand in the gallery, with an album that's chocka with great panoramas and fantastic lakeland landscapes. It's offers mountains, sunshine, snow, and even the odd frozen fence post:-) Great stuff. If this shot of Buttermere (taken from Red Pike) appeals, see Dt's Walking Photos for more.

A bit further south, Chris Stevens has sent us a couple of photos from the Black Mountains. It's not the best-covered area on OM, but this photo certainly proves we've been missing out. More from South Wales in the Vale of Ewyas album.

And finally, most photos on OM are landscapes, with the odd sheep or two for good measure, and perhaps the occasional deer. The range is increasing though. Fresh from Vancouver Island, Eddie Stephenson brings us this close-up of a red squirrel. He looks like a friendly chap - the squirrel that is, although we don't doubt that Eddie is too! - but then, who isn't friendly when they're after your lunch? Apparently, this little fellow was eyeing up Eddie's diner at the hot springs in Tafina. We wonder if he got any?

Thanks to everyone who's submitted photos to the gallery - we always look forward to browsing through them. All OM members have 3MB of space to upload their own photos, so keep them coming.
