Photo of the Month - December's Winners

Bridgedale logo

Amidst the excitement of warm waterproof pressies and fitness-focused New Year's resolutions, another month's photo competition came to an end on OM. While we raised our glasses of champagne, Michael S's photo, 'Newlands Valley', became the latest Photo of the Month - Michael wins three pairs of Bridgedale Trekker socks for his efforts.

It's been a month of cloud inversions and skyscapes in the gallery, so it's nice to see some photogenic light effects bagging one of December's prizes. Rob Sutherland's photo of 'Ben Vrackie Brocken Spectre' wins him some comfy feet as well, with two pairs of Trekkers making their way to him shortly.

A one-off third prize (because it's the New Year and we're feeling generous) was tied between Kev Duncan and Richard Roworth, for their photos of a well-iced Ben Ledi summit cross and a half-wrapped Cairngorm, below. They also get a new pair of Trekkers apiece to keep their feet warm next time there's a hike in the Scottish mountains on the cards.

As usual, thanks to everyone for submitting their photos to the gallery. There've been some stunning skies and wintry landscapes appearing over Christmas and the good news is that the best of them will win another five pairs of Bridgedale Trekker socks at the end of January. So, keep posting your photos, and keep voting - the photo with the most votes wins the socks, easy as that.

Also, take a peep at the routes section for 2007 walking ideas to help burn off the Christmas pud, or send us a review of the best piece of gear to emerge from underneath your Christmas tree this year.
