Last week was all about water; this week we're being a bit more picky and only taking the stuff in frozen form. It's about time things started turning white and at least winter's made a bit more of an effort on that head lately. So, here's the first properly wintry gallery round-up of the season.
The Alps have had a bit of a thin season so far, but here's Chamonix 2006 looking suitably white and picturesque. It's the only photo in the album so far, but hopefully there'll be some more where that came from...

Ciachio's managed to find the perfect combination of autumn colours and winter weather. How's this for a contrast of colours? For Some (More) Scottish Bimbles have a peep at his album, or else head north until the gradients start steepening and get your boots on ...

Glen Tilt, by Ciachio
There's only a dusting of snow in this one, but we reckon it just about passes the whiteness test. If those reflections look appealing, you'll be pleased to know that Guy's Wasdale album is a very watery one.

Back to properly frozen stuff, Geoff C's photo of Thunacar Knott Tarn comes from Views from the pitch, which is mostly cloudy-white rather than icy-white. There are some fantastic inversions in there, well worth browsing.

The Wild Images album shows several recent Peak District snowscapes as well, including a few that are very hard to drive away from. It's just a shame the sign doesn't provide any hints about opening the gate ...

Please Shut the Gate, by Richard Roworth
Finally, who'd miss out on a fell race just because of slightly inclement conditions - or a full blown blizzard? Not Andrew Terrill, by the looks of things. His Running - The Album is open to all OM members and it shows everything from those uplifting runs across moorland in glorious sunshine to the moments when you end up sprawled on the ground thinking 'it's all gone horribly wrong'. Upload your own running photos to complete the picture.

That's it for this week. Thanks to everyone who's submitted photos to the gallery - we
always look forward to browsing through them. All OM members have 3MB
of space to upload
their own pics, so keep them coming.
