Filming is just about to start on another documentary based on a
Joe Simpson book, this time, The Beckoning Silence.
The film's being made by Darlow Smithson, the company behind the BAFTA-winning
adaptation of Touching The Void, and is due to be
broadcast later this year according to Simpson's web site.
The book centres on the Alps and culminates in an unsuccessful
attempt on the North Face of the Eiger, when Simpson and his partner
are on the face at the same time as another team fall past them to
their deaths in a tragic accident.
Filming is due to take place in the Alps during March and April
and we'll tell you more once we know about it.
