One of the hot subjects at the start of the week was the bloggers covering the launch of "The Outdoors Station" after Podcast Bob was forced to take down "The Outdoors Channel" last year - see here and here, for example. One or two of the bloggers have also taken advantage of the ability to embed the podcasts into their blog.
Alan Sloman - see blog - is still in the early days of the world's longest pub crawl which is better known as his Land's End to John O'Groats walk in aid of the Sue Ryder Care Charity.
Over at Andy Howell's blog Must Be This Way there have been further instalments on his epic First HRP Trek. John Hee meanwhile has managed to photograph the only waterfall in the New Forest - see blog.
One of the nice things about bloggers is that they will respond to each others' posts. Take for example the post on my blog about footwear when crossing a river for the Challenge; this prompted a response from Andy Howell that really did offer some good advice and a valued opinion on the subject - see his blog.
Details have also been finalised for the UK Outdoors Blogger Con 07, to be held at this year's Outdoors Show at the NEC. I'm sure it will generate quite a few blog entries on the day.
George at London Backpacker asks What is Lightweight? when it comes to rucksacks.
At Lighthikers World Roman has been doing some hiking movie reviews - Lighten Up! - An Ultralight Makeover and Walk - Still Walking - Even More Walking.
If you are short of something to read, Aktoman has reviewed the April issue of Trail here. There's also a fantastic link to a very in depth look at dry bags, and a link to a US Army review of commercial water purifiers.
John Hee's blog contains further thoughts on blogs, what they are, their direction and where they fit into life the universe and everything.
Finally Cameron McNeish has been discussing the possible midge explosion to hit Scotland later this year, possibly during my TGO Challenge crossing, if I'm extra unlucky - see blog.
That should keep you going for the next week at least. Happy reading ...
