The Big Gear Giveaway ...

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

We've got freebies coming out of our ears at OM this month. Whether you need to upgrade your GPS system or you're looking forward to a summer of camping and, erm, jumping in and out of rivers, there's bound to be something in the prize haul to suit you. And in this kind of weather, who wouldn't want to jump in a river?:-)

Despite the snow yesterday, summer should be back soon, and with that in mind, Teva have just opened a competition to win four pairs of their new Sunkosis - that's one pair each for four people, not four pairs for the winner, in case the thought had crossed anyone's mind. The Sunkosis are the newest member of the Teva Pro series and they look like a good option if you're going to be in and out of water, but still need full protection and underfoot support for walking. And if you're not won yet, we should point out that the colours on offer include 'spicy orange', 'insignia blue', 'flintstone' and 'burnt olive' - all sounds very exotic.

The prizes are worth £75 each and to enter, simply fill in your details on the Teva Competition Page and answer the competition question. As usual, the latter registers on the 'sunny stroll along the river' scale of difficulty, rather than the Eiger end of the scale.

If you like to stay dry-shod, and don't fancy the latest Teva Pros, then there are plenty more prizes that might appeal. The new outdoor store Simply Outdoors has decided to throw a bit of a gear party to announce its presence on the market - and a pretty good party it is too. The VIP guests (that's all OM members:-) get their drinks in a brand new Terra Nova Quasar ETC tent worth £500 - and whoever's name comes out of the hat first at the end of the night gets to pack it up and take it home with them.

Second prize is a Lowrance Ifinder Go GPS worth £90, so if you're wondering whether to finally enter the world of gizmos and gadgets, this could be the time. Finally, three third prize winners get a Petzl Tikka XP head torch apiece, which is a pretty handy bit of kit too.

Visit the Simply Outdoors competition page to enter.

Finally, it's still not too late to win a walk with Alan Hinkes at the Kendal Mountain Festival, in a brand new Berghaus technical tee (and hopefully a few other items - but Berghaus won't be supplying those:-). Enter the prize draw here. And of course, you can always win five pairs of Bridgedale Trekker socks in the OUTDOORSmagic gallery - three for the month's top photographer, as voted for by OM members, and two for the runner-up. Just upload your latest mountain pics to take part.

Good luck, and remember to keep checking the OM competition page, as we update it all the time...
