£2500+ Gear Giveaway

Yes, you did read that correctly. It never rains but it pours on the OUTDOORSmagic competition page, and this month it's pouring Gore-Tex jackets, with the odd holiday voucher thrown in for good measure.

Here's what those nice people at Explore, Haglofs, and Complete Outdoors have decided to give away, all for the price of a simple correct answer. Let's think, would we fancy a free award-winning Oz Pullover, weighing a bonkers-light 179g? Hmmm, that sounds like an offer it would be rude to refuse...

Haglofs' Oz Pullover Glut

Haglofs Oz Pullover Haglofs are either feeling a little crazy or else they've decided that OUTDOORSmagic is a truly wonderful place - no doubt the latter - because they're giving away no less than ten Oz Pullovers exclusively to OM members. The Oz is the lightest waterproof jacket we've seen so far, and it was the only product to bag a gold award at last year's European Outdoor Awards - not bad, as accolades go! We tested it recently and were certainly impressed - read our review. To get your name in the hat for a free one, click here.

There are also reviews of plenty more Haglofs products in our user review system, or you can read reviews of waterproof jackets to find out how the Oz compares.

A Good Night's Sleep And Some Fresh Water

Platypus Hoser Hydration System Complete Outdoors, the online gear store, are feeling pretty generous too. They're giving away three Therm-A-Rest Expedition R self inflating mattresses, worth £69.99srp each, and even the weather's getting excited about it. Day-long sunshine, clear blue skies, eighteen hours of daylight, and mild starry nights. What more could you want for a night in the great outdoors?

As quite a few OMers are keen on wild camping (shhh, don't tell anyone) they might sweat a pint or two on route to their camping spot, which is where the runners' up prize comes in handy. There are ten Platypus Hoser 2L hydration systems on offer - they're worth £15.99 each but it feels like much more than that when you're lugging a pack on a warm afternoon. Click here to win one.

Mont Blanc, Toubkal, Everest Base Camp ...

Explore Treks... the list of places where we could happily use a hydration system, a Gore-Tex jacket and a Therm-a-Rest, is rather long, and we'll have to live a very long time if we want to visit all of them, but the Explore catalogue includes quite a few of them. The big names like Kilimanjaro feature on it, but we could always explore a Sicilian volcano or two instead, or perhaps the mountains of northern Cyprus.

To lessen wallet-damage, Exodus are giving £150 of vouchers to one lucky OMer for a trip of his/her choice. Runners' up get an Explore Trek Bag. Click here if either of those options sounds like your cup of tea - or your high altitude extravaganza:-)

Our competitions page is updated regularly, so cast your eye in its direction every now and again to find the latest offers. At the moment, you can also get your waterproof mitts on five pairs of Bridgedale Trekker socks, some ActiveTravelApparel wicktastic underwear, and four pairs of Teva Sunkosi sandals/trekking shoes. Not a bad haul for a few minutes' worth of form-filling in cyberspace:-)
