Win Inov-8 Trail Shoes, Day Packs And Socks

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

Inov 8 Flyroc 310It's a while now since we gave away those 10 Oz Pullovers from Haglofs, or £500 of Craghoppers clothing, so it's time to announce a few more outdoors freebies to help OMers on their way to lightweight gear - that's light on the pocket as well as light in the pack.

Free Inov-8 Trail Shoes

The latest stash comes from Inov-8, who specialise in lightweight gear for trail running and adventure races. They're giving away a pair of Flyroc 310s to a lucky OMer - that's a pair of trail shoes weighing in at 310g on the Inov-8 scales for a UK size 8. Clue's in the name really.

Bag your pair by telling us which two records have been broken wearing the Flyroc 310s, and for the 99.9% of people who don't keep a mental check-list of trail records, the answer's on the Inov-8 website.

Free Pack and Hydration System

If you're more of a big sturdy boots person and don't fancy wandering around with the Flyrocs on your feet, there's also a Race Pro 22 pack up for grabs, complete with a H2Orizontal hydration bladder.

Inov 8 hydration systemIf you haven't come across the concept before, the bladder works in the same way as your standard Platypus except that it's shaped to fit inside a hip belt. The thinking is that most of the weight in your pack is carried on your hips anyway, so why not put the heavy stuff - like water - on your hips in the first place. It won a bronze award at the recent Friedrichshafen outdoor show too and it sounds like an interesting idea. More on that direct from Friedrichshafen soon.

Give it a try for yourself by entering the competition.

Free Socks

And finally, it simply isn't possible to own enough hiking socks, so Inov-8 are offering OMers a pair of debrisocs for free as well. They're designed as a single piece gaiter sock which prevents dirt and grit from entering the shoe when running, and they come in either a Coolmax or Merino wool option, for extra warmth.

Enter here or read more about Inov-8 products on their website.

More Competitions

That's it from Inov-8, but if none of their gear takes your fancy, it isn't too late to win a beautiful Lake District print, or one of ten copies of Set in Stone, from Posing Productions. There's also still time to win a pair of Meindl Burma GTX walking boots in a men's or ladies' version, from Jacksons of Arley, or seven nights in Carinthia, courtesy of Walk Austria. Last but not least, don't forget that there are five pairs of Bridgedale Trekker socks up for grabs in the gallery each month.

More information on the OM competitions page.
