The Week In Pics

By Susan

Bridgedale logo

It's been another globe-trotting week in the gallery but Scotland continues to hold its own against the best of the Annapurna Circuit, the Rees-Dart Track in New Zealand and the odd explosion from a lava-happy Mount Etna.

Cuillins

Heading north first of all, Alan's Mountain Travels have given him some perfect moments on Skye recently. His album has just sprouted a whole stack of 'sunlight-breaking-through-the-clouds' moments as well as a fair portion of Cuillin Hills panoramas. This one was taken from Macleod's Table.

Sicily

Meanwhile Stuart Scott's had things a bit more explosive on Sicily, where Mount Etna appears to be breathing heavily. The photo was taken at 3000m, looking north to the fuming South East crater of the mountain. More in the Etna Volcano album.

The World Tour

Sally's Travels have taken her to most places recently, ranging from Annapurna in the Himalayas, to the South Island of New Zealand, and then to some rock sculptures in Corsica. It's all right for some!

Loch Leven

Closer to home, Tyke's Scotland album is brand new but still pretty spectacular. Follow the link for deserted roads, Skye sunsets, and a very dreamy looking Loch Leven.

Skiddaw

Uncle Buzz added this gathering of Lakeland rocks to the Lake District album, which is open to all members of OM. If you have any photos of the Cumbrian fells that might like to join the throng, upload them here.

Dodging DIY

Kinley has become one of the world's top DIY dodgers - we reckon he deserves a prize for it at the very least, if not a knighthood. His latest round of escapism from the realities of skirting boards, power saws, and nails was this cracking shot, which we reckon is easily more desirable than an afternoon's cupboard-building. More in the Dodging DIY album.

Where am I?

Finally, Diddy specialises in services to OMers who've got a bit of spare time on their hands. His Diddy album has plenty of pics helpfully entitled 'where am I?' and you're invited to discuss your thoughts on the matter in the forum. So, forget about the Sudokus and become the maestro of British hill walking knowledge!

That's all for now. Upload your photos here - we love looking through them - and if you want some inspiration for places to take your camera, try the routes section of the site. Also, the new, the wonderful, and the downright weird, from the world of outdoor gear, is always up for comment in our gear reviews. Or you could just while away the afternoon chatting in the forum, especially if you have some pictures of 1980s mountaineering gear to admit to ...
