Q: I'm gonna be doing some scrambling on Skye
in a few weeks time and getting all sorts of advice about
the right boots for the job........ any advice and
recommendations would be more than welcome. I'm a size 8 1/2
or 9 and definitely needs a ladies boot, mens boots are just
too wide?
A: Gear here, Richard 'Scrambling' Gear and yes,
it all can get a little confusing. Anyway, before you splash

warm, synthetic jacket over the top of whatever else you're
wearing....

is there any glue that can be used safely on
breathable, waterproof fabric without damaging it?
A: Gear here, Richard 'Adhesive' Gear, master of,
well, sticking fabrics together really. To be honest, I'd be
reluctant to use an aftermarket adhesive to try and bond a
waterproof jacket.
In an ideal world, I'd suggest using a specialist outdoor
clothing repair company to modify the hood, however given
that the jacket only retails for around £70, I don't
think that's a cost effective option in this case.. ...
