Who Won The Meindl Boots?

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

Meindl Burma Walking BootsWe've had a few giveaways recently, to help loyal OMers on their way to comfy packs, free boots, and clean socks - not that we're saying they weren't clean already, you understand - but anyway, now's the time to announce some of the winners.

One of our most recent competitions was sponsored by Jacksons of Arley, who claim the title of the largest outdoor store in the Midlands, and they had a pair of Meindl Burma GTX walking boots to hand out, in either a men's or lady's version.

The boots are worth £135 and features include a nubuck leather upper, waterproof Gore-Tex lining, Vibram Multigriff sole, and Air-Active system to control moisture inside the boot.

All you had to do to be in with a chance of winning was to reel off a fact from outdoor shop history - that notable subject poured over at length by so many school children - and tell us in which year Jacksons was established.

The answer, 1963, was actually at the top of the page, ahem, so we had to pick the correct answers out of rather a large hat - a virtual sou'ester more or less - and the first name to reach daylight was ... drum roll ...

Richard Merry from Colchester

Congratulations Richard. We hope you're finding the boots comfy.

And if you missed out this time, we have plenty more freebies where those came from - just check the OM competitions page for the latest. At the moment, a waterproof digital camera beckons, not to mention five good old pairs of Bridgedale Trekker socks :-)

Good luck!
