Another look into the near future, this time for users of the
excellent Jetboil stove who will finally be able to fry up
their bacon and eggs from next January thanks to a dedicated
Jetboil frying pan.

That might not sound like much, but up til now, Jetboil users have
mostly been confined to boiling things, albeit in a very efficient
way. The new pan uses Jetboil's FluxRing technology for efficient
bacon-crisping. The FluxRing concentrates heat giving efficiencies of
over 80 per-cent compared to 30-40 per-cent for a standard stove
leading to faster boiling and cooking.

The new frying pan is compatible with both the Jetboil GCS and PCS
models, has curved sidewalls for easy flipping - pancakes anyone -
and stirring and the plastic bottom cover also doubles as as a
preparation / eating plate. The handles fold flat for easy storage.
Weight is a claimed 280 grammes and it measures 205mm x 57mm, or
8.1 x 2.2 inches in old money.
Once the pan is available in January 2008, it should retail
for around £35, though it will also need a Pot Support
and Stabilizer, sold separately. Anyone for a New Year bacon
buttie?
