The world's biggest mountain film festival kicks off in
Kendal tomorrow, Friday 9 November, but while much of the
publicity has centred on the big screen premiere of The Beckoning
Silence, we reckon - given that it's already screened on Channel 4 - a
more interesting appointment might be with the premiere of
Alastair Lee's new film, PSYCHE.

Lee's already a multiple Kendal award winner and Psyche could be
on the same track. From what we can gather, it's a combination of a
number of short films featuring the likes of Dave Birkett, Steve
McClure, Andy Kirkpatrick, and Ian Parnell all of whom will be on
hand at the Kendal premiere.
As well as that, turn up for the performance and you'll also get a
free Eyes Up book of Lee's excellent landscape photography and a
poster, not that he'll need to resort to bribery if past form's
anything to go by...
There are clips on Alastair's web site, or check out our recent
Friday
Matinee for some excellent streaming video to whet
your appetite.
The premiere of PSYCHE takes place as part of the Kendal Mountain
Film Festival and is at 10 am on Saturday 17 November.
You can buy tickets online direct from Alastair's own web site at
www.posingproductions.com
or from the main Kendal festival web site at www.mountainfilm.co.uk
where you can find more about the rest of the programme and the
accompanying mountain literature and arts festivals.
