Pssst.... a little bird just told us about an interesting option
for anyone with a yen for Paramo clothing, but who finds Paramo's cut
a bit on the loose side.
Cornish-based surfing brand Finisterre is producing a range
of waterproof clothing which, like Paramo, are manufactured in
Paramo's Colombian factory using Nikwax Analogy fabrics.
As a surf brand, Finisterre was attracted to Paramo by it's use of
recyclable polyester and the performance advantages of the fabrics.
The actual garments are instantly familiar as are the principles they
use - clock those vents on the Humboldt smock for example, but we're
reliably informed that the cut is sleeker and closer than Paramo's
sometimes rather spacious designs particularly on the women's
versions.

We reckon that makes them an interesting option for anyone who's
built on the slim side and wants a closer-fitting, arguably
better-looking garment than Paramo's stock cut. Another option would
be Furtech.
You won't find Finisterre kit in outdoor shops, seeing as they're
a surf brand and all, but you can buy either from a limited number of
surf stockists or direct from Finisterre's own web site at www.finisterreuk.com
where you can also find product photos and information plus some neat
videos running through the features of the clothing.
