Haglöfs Dresses Alpine Rescue Hunks!

It's a thumbs up for Haglofs from the discerning folk at the Swiss Alpine Rescue Team - all 2,500 of them - who've chosen to clothe their members in kit from the Swedish brand for the next three years.

The team works not just on emergency rescues in extreme mountain environments, but also on the prevention side of things, so members need decent protection from the elements.

Here's a Top Gun-style quick snap, so you can recognise them if you need rescuing - just grab that snow-skirt and tug gently to attract his attention. And calm down gurlz.

Initially Haglofs will be supplying 1,200 soft shell jackets, 1,000 Gore-Tex waterproof jackets and 600 pairs of Gore-Tex pants and over the course of the three-year agreement, the entire organisation will be dressed in Haglofs kit.

The company says that one reason they were able to beat off competition from rival brands including Schöffel, Mammut and Salewa, was that their garments could meet the required specification with only minor tweaks. Buyers for the Rescue Team were also impressed with the finish levels of the product.

So if you find yourself in need of rescue in the Swiss Alps, you can expect to see the Haglofs logo coming to your aid. But hey, let's hope it doesn't come to that eh?
