Haglöfs Revamp LIM For Spring 2008

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

We've already brought you a preview of the new stuff from Haglofs for spring 2008, but we thought you might appreciate a closer look at a couple of items from their LIM - Less Is More - range which are due in the shops shortly.

LIM is the Swedish brand's minimalist, lightweight range of kit and has always been worth a look for anyone wanted to cut their pack weight to a minimum wthout compromising performance.

LIM Ozone Jacket

Last year's Oz Pullover was an astonishing lightweight bit of kit, but used Gore-Tex Paclite. For those looking for something a bit more robust, Haglofs has pulled out the stops to produce a 360-gramme jacket made from three-ply Gore-Tex Pro Shell. That weight's for a large, so you can expect smaller sizes to be even lighter and so far it's the lightest Pro Shell jacket we've seen.

The LIM Ozone jacket, says Hafglofs is 'lightweight yet reinforced' and 'a perfect garment for fell running, biking, hiking, climbing'.

Features include a three-way adjustable hood that stows away in the collar when not in use and a neat wrap-around cut which reduces the number of seams and associated tape to reduce weight and bulk. Shoulder, sleeve end and jacket bottom seams have been offset to avoid chafing and unnecessary wear.

The jacket's torso pockets use die-cut liners to provide ventilation and reduce weight, zips are all watertight ones and Gore microtape is used on seams. Finally the shoulders, sleeve ends, jacket bottom, peak and so on use lamination to improve durability.

Price tag once it's in the shops will be around £270 and the jacket's available in both men's and women's versions.

LIM Backpacks Overhauled

Haglofs has also overhauled its range of LIM packs for the spring with the aim of making them 'better and lighter'. There are now three packs in the range with capacities of 35, 45 -pictured - and 55 litres and they're all lighter than previous models as well as being more refined.

The LIM35, for example, weighs in at 1000 grammes and features an expandable front pocket, hip-belt pockets for rapid access and a roll-up opening for rapid access. Contoured shoulder straps use perforated foam to reduce weight and up breathability.

Finally they share the jacket's colour scheme of grey with yellow highlights, so you streak across the hills in a fully colour co-ordinated sort of way.

Prices will be £90, £95 and £100 for the 35, 45 and 55-litre versions respectively.
