Optimus Crux Light Launched

By Jon

New from Optimus is an even lighter version of their compact lightweight canister-top, stove, the Crux in the shape of the Crux Light.

The original Crux managed to combine a 93-gramme weight with handy fold-away compactness and a broad flame spread that made it extremely useable. It could be packed away under a gas canister for ease of portability.

As you can guess from the name, the Crux Light is basically a lighter version of the same stove. It weighs a genuine 74 grammes, without canister, and once it's in the shops - soon - will retail for around £50 which is slightly cheaper than the Crux.

The weight savings come from doing away with the folding burner used by the Crux which means the new stove is a little less compact, but 19 grammes lighter, though as you can see, it still packs down pretty small.

More Optimus detals at www.optimus.se though at the moment the Crux Light isn't on the site.
