The countdown to this year's Sheffield Adventure Film Festival
is well and truly underway with the best adventure films and a
lot more coming to South Yorkshire from 29 February to 2 March,
2008.
The festival's set to include films from the worlds of climbing,
mountain biking, skiing, orienteering, BASE jumping, skate boarding,
kayaking, mountaineering and more with no fewer than 14 world
premieres scheduled for the event.
On top of that, ShAFF is again working with two of the biggest
hitters in the mountain film festival galaxy thanks to its
partnership with both Kendal and Banff Mountain Film Festival World
Tours.

Like it says on the film can, you'll be able to take in some of
the best features from the 2007 Banff and Kendal Festivals in
Sheffield with subjects from extreme unicycling through to
mountaineering on Ama Dablam - above - arguably the world's most beautiful
mountain. There's a full listing on the festival web site.
One of the highlights of the Saturday night should be the chance
to see Gordon Stainforth's interview with Joe Simpson, which will in
turn be filmed by award-winning film maker Alastair Lee and, quite
possibly, then hosted on Al's Posing Productions web site.
More? Live music in the Showroom bar, photo exhibits, a bargain
area run by main sponsors, Decathlon, a 'come and try it' climbing
wall and the return of last year's city centre orienteering
event.
Finally, to cap it all off, ShAFF and The Climbing Works will be
holding a massive party at The Workstation with free entry to ShAFF
tciket holders, which sounds good to us :-)
We could blather on further, but it makes more sense to point your
towards the SHAFF web site at www.shaff.co.uk
where you can find full details of the entire programme
