Aldi Bargain Gear Back

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

CORRECTION: Aldi's PR agency has been in touch to say that the Aldi outdoors range will actually be available in store from 17 April, 2008 rather than March as they originally said. Apologies for any confusion caused.

Supermarket chain Aldi is back with another selection of budget-priced - but not half bad - walking clothing and hardware including boots, trousers, a soft shell jacket and trekking poles for a fiver.

We've used the Aldi kit before and the group's vast purchasing power enables them to offer some great prices making them ideal for anyone on a tight budget.

The £24.99 walking boots - above in two styles - for example, have been upgraded and now come with a Vibram outsole, a water-resistant suede and Condura - it says here - upper and PVC protected heel and toe areas. Available in both men's and women's sizes.

The popular CoolMax baselayers are back for a fiver, again in men's and women's sizes, a softshell jacket is £12.99 and outdoors trousers £9.99.

Also in the range are Walking Poles for £4.99 complete with an anti-shock mechanism no less, gaiters, socks, packable waterproofs and even a compass.

The walking range will be available from Aldi stores from 17 April, 2008 and is part of the Aldi special buys range. More information at www.aldi-stores.co.uk
