Top British climber Andy Cave's second book, Thin
White Line, is published on 1 May 2008 and Peak District
locals also have the chance to see Andy at a launch event in
Hathersage.
The
new book is the sequel to Andy's excellent autobiographical
Learning to Breathe - one of the best climbing books we've
read in a long time - and takes up where it left off following the
death of his friend and climbing partner Brendan Murphy on
Changabang.
Thin White Line, says the publisher, is 'as much a journey into
the mind of an extreme mountaineer as it is into the wild landscapes
through which he travels'. Cave re-evaluates his relationship with
the mountains while climbing hard routes in Patagonia, Norway and
Alaska. It's a book we're really looking forward to reading.
Hathersage Event
To tie in with the launch, Andy is appearing at Outside in
Hathersage on Thursday 8 May where he'll be reading
from the new book with images and answering questions from the
audience.
It's a ticket-only affair with entry costing £4.00,
but that includes wine and a finger buffet at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm
start. if you want to attend call Outside on 01433 651936.
Thin White Line is published by Random House on 1 May 2008
priced at £18.99. More information at www.randomhouse.co.uk.
