One for your TV-viewing diary with the news that Virgin 1's new
series
Take Me
To The Edge fronted by top climber Leo Houlding starts
this
Sunday 31, August
2008 at 8pm.
In the new series, Leo - and we quote - 'takes five plucky, but
inexperienced adults away from their ordinary day-to-day lives and goes
with them through their own rites of passage on a global adventure to
some of the most extreme countries in the world.'
Here's a mildly frantic trailer from YouTube to whet your appetite and
give you an idea of what it's all about. Frankly that camel scares us
...
Locations include Kenya, New Zealand, India, Bhutan and, erm, Oman and
features everything from slacklining through to, erm 'sand surfing',
which judging from the pictures on Virgin Media's web site is just what
it sounds like...
Anyway, it's all about people doing stuff they wouldn't normally do in
exotic locations, and about Leo wearing lots of Berghaus clothing along
the way. And to celebrate the latter,
Berghaus - Leo's
sponsor - is
giving away
700-quid's worth of their kit in a competition on their
web site at
www.virginmedia.com
where you can also find more details about the programme and some
location shots.
