Go Gas Camping Stove

Go Gas Camping Stove

£13.00 approx.

Burns: Standard butane propane gas cartidges

Time to boil 1 litre: 6 min 30 sec

Weight: 150g

Totally unpretentious lightweight canister top-mounting stove from UK company Go Gas, who also produce a number of more specialised outdoor stoves. The canister top designs are inherently less stable, than those with tripod burners, but it's clear that Go Gas know what they're doing. Using the same fuel as the Coleman Alpine, the Go Gas boiled almost two minutes faster, clearly the burner's well designed, backing up Go Gas's research claims.

Go Gas use an Isobutane in their mix, which is more effective in low temperatures than standard Butane, which becomes liquid at higher temperatures.

Verdict: Light, cheap and effective. The only negative point here is the lack of stability from the compact design

Right now Go Gas don't have a web page

I've had one of these for over ten years now - I take it along as a back up for when my sigg petrol stove doesn't work, which is most of the time. It's very easy to use, pretty efficient considering how basic it is - as long as it's not windy! In even a light breeze in only slightly chilly conditions you sometimes find that the pan of water you're eagerly waiting for will never actually get to boiling point. Other than that it's great, especially at the low price.
