Just a quick reminder that the
2009
OS Outdoors Show at the
NEC in Birmingham is
just a few days off now, with the doors opening this
Friday 27 March and
running through to
Sunday
29 March.
There's masses going on with everything from spectacular indoors
climbing action in the form of the
SkyMasters
event where top climbers will be competing over an astonishing
artificial obstacle course high above the exhibition floor - last
year's was astonishing - through to a raft of inspirational talks,
lectures and seminars.

Ramblers Walk-In Podiatry
Clinic just roll on up with your foot pains and an
on-site podiatrist will be on hand to offer help and guidance in
dealing with your problem feet.
Bring Your Old Gear
Oxfam in conjunction with Grangers is collecting kit for its
Fabric4Life initiative. Jackets, boots, trousers and baselayers are all
wanted and where appropriate will be cleaned and reproofed by Grangers
to give as new performance before going on sale in Oxfam stores.
Speakers As
usual there are some top speakers scheduled to appear in the various
theatres dotted about the show. Names this year include Rannulph
Fiennes, Doug Scott, Alan Hinkes, Catherine Destivelle, climber Tim
Emmett and round the world cyclist Mark Beaumont.
Practical Stuff Plenty
of opportunity to get your hands sore and dirty with stands where you
can try climbing, kayaking, biking and more. Oh, and there's the
Jennings Cumberland Arms pub as well for
Alpkit CoLab Award Just
like last year, finalists in Alpkit's CoLab competition will have their
own stand where they'll be canvassing for your votes. And among them,
this year, is OM's own Captain Paranoia with his radical Squeezebox
stove. So don't forget to wander over and say hello to the Captain...
