If this is Friday - and it very definitely might well be - then it must
be time for the
Friday
Matinee and this week we're having a bikey sort of day, so
we'll have a
bikey
matinee too...
To kick things off, here's some headcam footage complete with running
commentary from top downhiller
Greg
Minaar riding the
Fort
William
downhill course, renowned as one of the world's top events
and properly
gnarly track. Astonishingly not only does Minaar ride ridiculously
quickly, he still has the breath and spare mental capacity to tell you
what's going on and even say thanks to some of the marshalls along the
way. Mad....
Of course, if you're not a world class downhiller, you might just want
to tackle something a little more amendable, which is where
the new Nevis Red Route comes it. It opens on Wednesday 24 June at
Nevis Range and is aimed at more, erm, normal folk. Lots of interesting
roller coaster wooden boardwalk in evidence...
And last but very definitely not least, and still on a Scottish theme,
we've brought you this YouTube phenomenon already, but it's well worth
a second viewing. And a third. And probably a fourth as well. Edinburgh
trials rider Danny Macaskill with some extraordinary riding in a
beautifully-shot video with some great music thrown in. Enjoy...
And that's it for this week. Have a fantastic weekend and whatever you
do, try to resist the tempation to ride off high buildings...
