KOR, It's A New Water Bottle

There aren't many water bottles that might have a claim on being an object of desire, but the new to the UK KOR bottle has a pretty good crack at it with striking looks, 'health safe' materials, charity support and some interesting design features.


It should be good as well, according to new UK importers, Anatom, the KOR bottle took three years to produce. It's made from Eastman Tritan, a tough odour and taint resistant material that's free of the chemical BPA, which is found in polucarbonate water bottles.

The unusual shape is apparently intended to mimic the lines of blown glass and looks like nothing else we've seen. Then there's the lid, which does away with time-consuming screw-top opening in favour of a hinged cap and handle which gives rapid one-handed opening and screw-thread free drinking. The cap apparently opens with a touch and then hinges back so it doesn't get in the way of your drinking.

Apparently the opening is big enough to take ice cubes, though that, of course, does kind of depend on the size of the ice cubes. It's not all looks though, the shape apparently means it won't roll over and cushioned bottom protects it from impacts.

The bottle is available in four different colours - pink, green, blue and orange - and a percentage of each bottle sale is donated to charity depending on which colour you buy as part of KOR's Thirst For Giving  campaign. That all underlines the company's commitment to what they call S.E.T values, the initials standing for 'Sustainable', 'Ethical' and 'Transparent' and encompassing the sustainable business practices, dealing with employees and suppliers in a fair and ethical manner and finally, open communication over the whole manufacturing process.

That  means being open about what materials are used and which sub-contractors are employed and their S.E.T scorecards.
