The Heat Is On

With a two-week heatwave forecast, it's time to remember that while lizards and camels are pretty good in the heat, human beings aren't.

Dehydration and heat stroke are the main enemies along with sun burn. Do you know how much water you need to drink every hour to stay happy when it's hot? So, to help you stay healthy and happy, check out these two articles:

Hydration basics with the Butcher's Dog on OUTDOORSmagic

Stay Fit Not Fried from Couch Potato on BIKEmagic - equally applicable to walkers and climbers

And a quick word about sun cream: remember that it takes around 20 minutes for the cream to be absorbed and start protecting your skin, that's 20 minutes where you can get surprisingly burned, so slap it on, but slap it on at least 20 minutes before you hit the hill and go for high protection.
