Gallery Round-Up - January 2008

A quick meander through some of the latest images from the OUTDOORSmagic gallery.

It's been a while since we took a virtual meander throught the OUTDOORSmagic Gallery, so we reckoned it was about time for a quick tour of some of the nicest outdoors images we've had uploaded over the past few months.

All registered OM members have an automatic 3MB of free web space on the gallery to host their outdoors shots. To use it, just go to the Gallery front page, click on the 'Add Image' link and follow the instructions. You're limited to a maximum size per image of 250kb and you can either use an existing album where relevant - the OM Members' Album for example - or start a new album of your own.

Anyway, enough technicalities, here are some of the OM pics that have caught out eye recently...

Beinn Narnain - Anthony Angus

Classic Scottish winteriness from Anthony, who's Highand Scenes album is well worth a browse both for the recent winter shots and earlier images from around the highlands.

Beinn Narnain

Icy Path, Dartmoor - Ian Isles

Arty monochrome from yer man Isles and his South West Views albumSouth West Views album, a bit of a reminder that you don't have to be in the mountainis to find stupendous beauty.

Dartmoor

The Steall Bridge - Adrian

The legendary wire bridge in Glen Nevis, scene of numerous unfortunate dunkings and lot of trembly knees, well this, from Ade's Adrian album is what it looks like.

Glen Nevis

Milford Sound - Slioch

If you didn't want to visit New Zealand already then images like this should have you booking your ticket now. And the rest of Slioch's small but perfectly formed All Sorts album isn't too shabby either...

Milford Sound

Eastern Sierra - Rob Sutherland

This month Rob's been off across the big pond to add some American flavour to his Travels With Rob album. Another one that's always worth a look :-)

Eastern Sierra

Carn Mor Dearg Arete - ALS

If you've plodded up the tourist path on the Ben, you really owe yourself a perfect winter day on the Carb Mor Dearg arete, a perfect ridge that curves around opposite the North Face of Britain's highest mountain before climbing logically to the summit. If you need more inspiration, then take a look at this pic and ALS's Carn Mor Dearg Arete album. Lovely :-)

Pyrenees - Emma Todd

There are some fantastic looking shots from the Pyrenees in Emma's Pyrenees album and her Winter in the Pyrenees collection. Unfortunately the images are on the small size, but it's enough to give you a flavour of some of the best walkers' mountains in the world. Come on Emma, bigger pictures, please...

New Year On Elbrus - Dave Mycroft

OM routes editor Dave, saw in 2008 on Elbrus, the jammy git and he took some rather nice photos to welcome in the year as well and added them to his reather nice Out There album. Here's Elbrus on New Year's Day.

Elbrus, New Year 2008

Which neatly brings us to the end of January, or is it the beginning. At any rate, there are loads more amazing images in the gallery, around 10,000 of them now, so if you're bored an d in need of inspiration, check them out. Just click the gallery tab at the top of the page and lose yourself for a while.
