There's a distinct nip in the air, the calendar says it's January
and last night I was almost buried by sleet. It can mean only one
thing, it's winter...
That can means anything from arctic blizzards through to sunny
alpine snowfields or simply wet., cold and windy, but whatever you
get on your seasonal plate, being prepared with the right kit and
knowledge can make the difference between an exhilarating day on the
hills and a miserable one.
Here to help you get the crucial basics right are a selection of
OM articles covering everything from kit choice to basic skills. And
don't forget that we carry a regular Friday morning mountain weather
outlook complete with links to the invaluable Scottish Avalanch
Information Service.
Finally, don't forget the OM forum and review system both are
packed with friendly advice from fellow OUTDOORSmagic members.
