September In The Gallery

Big overhangs, Scottish sunshine, and tray-loads of beer ...

Mist fills the valley, blue sky covers Scotland, an Alpine glacier unrolls before your eyes, and someone rocks up with a big tray of beer. Yes, we’ve seen all those scenarios in the gallery this autumn.

Here’s a round-up of our favourite pics from the last month …

We start with a challenge – can you guess the location of the photo? If you can, let us know in the forum. Otherwise, you’ll have to be content with just wishing you were there. Alternatively, visit the Arise lord photo album to travel from the sublime to the hilarious, and to find the source of our reference to (lots of) beer:-).

The Lochaber album is a classic and has been for some time. Pay it a visit if you fancy a taste of all things Scottish, including deserted sandy beaches, blue skies reflected in a loch – and absolute white-out!

Black Mount, Rannoch Moor

Moving from the well-established to the brand new - the Langdale album is a recent addition to the site. Several of the photos are as lofty as this one – who says you need wings to get a bird’s eye view?

This pic must be a candidate for the ‘best view from a tent’ award. If anyone’s in doubt about the benefits of wild camping, they need look no further. See more in the Rannoch wildcamp album.

Here’s another lofty one. The latest additions to the album should be mana to wild campers, amateur entomologists, and anyone who fancies a lofty perch for their next drink.

Better or what?

We haven’t quite reached the snowy end of the year yet – not on this side of the English channel anyway – but still, here's a chilly shot, from the Mountains album.

Glacier

Back in summer walking mode, one happy OMer has recently returned from a lucky trip to Scotland, with fine weather, plenty of hilarity, and the odd canine friend - at least, that’s the way it looks from the Glencoe Meet September 2009 album.

Here’s another black-and-white wonder from a road less travelled. See the album for plenty of wildlife and some orbiting stoves – good old photoshop:-)

And finally, this one’s not for the faint-hearted. But if you’re not in high-adrenalin mode, rest assured that the other photos in Alain’s album are much more tranquil.

That’s all for this month. Keep uploading your pictures – there’s three megabytes of space with your name on it – and we’ll pick out our favourites again next month.
