The Friday Matinee
Peak special with phenomena, walking, climbing, paragliding and, erm, unicycling :-)

If it's Friday then it must, clearly, be time for the eponymous
Friday Matinee, your cast iron digital excuse to waste some of Friday
afternoon while the weekend is delayed at platform number 3A thanks
to the slow passage of time...
After last week's Seven Summits quest, we're staying a bit more
local this week, with a spirited trawl through YouTube in search of
the Peak District.
And to kick things off, here's an absolute classic Peak walking
phenomenon, Kinder Downfall with the water turning in mid-air
and being blown back up onto the plateau - bonkers :-)
And while we're on Kinder, how about a more gentle ramble across
the plateau... Complete with Manchester Rambler soundtrack :-) For
some photographic history see here.
And of course, there's always the gritstone - how about
some Peak District climbing, all friction and jamming and balance ...
we like this.
Then of course, you could go cycling, erm, unicycling? Strange
people... eek.
And last but not least, if you've always wondered what it would to
be one of those paragliders soaring above the Mam Tor ridge line,
here you go.
Have a great weekend :-)
