The Friday Matinee
Another streaming distraction from Friday afternoon, this week we get scary...

It's Friday and that can mean only one thing, yes, the Friday
Matinee, our regular virtual journey through the world of streaming
outdoors video.
This week we're feeling random, so here's some random stuff to
help you eke out the dark hours before you can escape for the weekend
:-)
First off, for all the dangers of high altitude on Everest,
arguably the most dangerous part of the mountain is the Khumbu Ice
Fall above base camp on the Nepal side of the mountain. Why?
Think a massive jumble of seracs the size of three-storey houses just
waiting to fall on your head, gaping crevasses bridged by spindly
aluminium ladders and, well, take a look...
And while we're doing scary places, here's a 'hairs of the back of
your neck' selection of images from the classic Heckmair route on the
North Face of the Eiger. We've featured this before, but it's a
goody...
One more scary movie before we head off. This is American climber
Katie Brown on-sighting The Tombstone in Moab. Awesome route, keep
watching...
That's it for this week, have a good weekend :-)
