The Friday Matinee!

Yep, our regular Friday afternoon streaming video selection is back with a local theme for local people...

If it's Friday - which according to Apple's Euro Time Server - it probably is within an accuracy of 0.0something-and-a-bit - it can mean only one thing, yep, it's time for the Friday Matinee our transparent excuse to lay waste to the morasse of Friday afternoon.

And this week, for a change, we thought we'd go local, like, and have a special Peak District-themed matinee with Peak walking and Peak climbing and Peak bouldering and, well, you get the idea, Peak District things...

Kicking it off is this rather nicely made quasi-documentary about a walk over Kinder Scout. It's actually in two parts, so here's Part One...

And here, if you're still with it, is Part Two... check out the water on the Downfall being blown back up in classic Kinder wet weather style :-)

What else can you do in the Peak? Well, climb, naturally, on gritstone, God's own rock. And one of the most famous climbs in the Peak is this one, Flying Buttress Direct at Stanage. One of those ones that's not that difficult but has a fantastic dramatic feel to it...

What else? Well, the Peak has some of the best mountain biking in the country, so it'd be rude not to.... this is what happens if you take long travel downhill bikes down bridleways... blimey, all that travel really does make a difference on the rocky stuff.

And finally, erm, parkour in the Peak? Sorry, in the WET peaks... weird stuff.

And that's all for this week, have a good one :-)
