The Friday Matinee!

If it's Friday - yes, too right - then it must be time for the Friday Matinee and this week, with the Bank Holiday weekend looming, we thought we'd dig out some UK scenery either to whet your appetite or alternatively, so you can stay at home and enjoy the hills vicariously...

This first one is some stunning footage taken on New Year's Day 2009 from the summit of Skiddaw in the northern Lakes. It really is beautiful with a full-on inversion.

Of course it's not always quite so lovely. This is what happened when the staff of US magazine Backpacker visited the Snowdonia National Park. This is more like it, proper British mountain weather and interesting to get an American perspective on our home hills.
