The Friday The 13th Matinee

A reprise of our Friday Matinee with a difference as things go horribly wrong... unlucky ;-)

If it's Friday then it must be time for the Friday Matinee, our regular distraction from the horrors of Friday afternoon work as the weekend beckons.

And this being Friday 13, we thought we'd focus on DISASTER. So the first of our clips depicts possibly the worst that can happen in the mountains, particularly if you're carrying bread...

It's the Touching Myself trailer for the Lee and Halstad climbing comedy Storms The Movie and, just in case you were unsure, yep, any similarity to Touching The Void is purely intentional.

Then - all in the worst possible taste - there's this rather unfortunate climbing accident in the Dolomites, but don't fret, it's only simulated. You just can't trust the hardware these days...

And just in case that wasn't enough, you just know that with any film trailer opening with a climber on a cliff face things are about to go horribly wrong. And hey, they haven't even considered K2 yet...

Still want to go climbing? Back to less dramatic stuff next week. If you've spotted a clip you reckon should be featured on the Friday matinee, drop us a line at editor@outdoorsmagic.com
