It's all about Daleks and long-suffering mascots in the gallery this week, and to celebrate, we've given our system a bit of an upgrade. Up until now, you've been able to talk about photos, or you've been able to look at them, but you've never been able to do both at once. That's all changed now, just in case anyone's got as bad a memory as us and needs to be able to see what they're talking about. Modern technology, eh? It's a wonderful thing:-)

If you want to join in the latest photography discussions, hot topics include the mysteries of night time photography and the representation of Daleks in the UK outdoors scene. The latter is bound to arouse strong feelings:-)

Speyside Way

Anyway, down to this week's photos. The Speyside Way album is one of the more unusual recent additions. As well as landscape pics, check out the camera-eating horses, well-clad cattle, firing zones, logs, logs, logs and - most importantly - the pub:-)

Western Galloway Hills

Geoff C enjoyed four days of backpacking in perfect conditions - unbroken sunshine, clarity and no midge problems - around Loch Enoch. He's not the only one to recommend the area either - Paddy Dillon describes Loch Enoch as the lake with the most crinkly shoreline he's ever seen, with "all sorts of colour grades as you wander round the shore". Sounds almost as good as the rest of the Mountain Photos album looks.

On Top Of Africa

This week's submission from foreign shores arrives straight from the impressive Fidman's Travels album, which is full of images from Skye and, erm, Tanzania;-)

Towards Harlech

This atmospheric pic was taken from the slopes of Glyder Fach in Snowdonia - one of many locations in The H album. Hamish is one of the old hands in the OM gallery, so expect to spend a while there.

Feline Tribulations

And finally, the editor's cat looks like it's having a difficult time at the moment - not that we'd ever accuse Jon of cruelty to MTB mascots, or anything like that:-) It just goes to show what a life tied to a set of handlebars can do to you...

The Readers Pets album, owned by Jamie Bassnett, is open to everyone, so don't forget to upload your pet's pic. It will join the good company of Metric Kate's Cicero RIP, Jamie's own Ebony, and this month's Bridgedale competition leader, Ninja Pussy Cat's Pet Dalek.

That's all for now. Upload your photos here - we love looking through them - and if you want some inspiration for places to take your camera, try the routes section of the site. Also, the new, the wonderful, and the downright weird, from the world of outdoor gear, is always up for comment in our gear reviews. Or you could just while away the afternoon chatting in the forum ...
