This week in the gallery it's all about water - frozen or flowing, liquid or vapour, fresh or salt, pouring downwards or rising upwards, we've got it all. It's an all-British week too, with none of the 'virtual world tour' stuff on display this time around. Now is it just me, or is there a bit of a coincidence that wet and British come together? :-)

We'll kick off with water flowing in the wrong direction, which Dean Morgan found rather perplexing on Kinder recently. If you want to find out the answer to the puzzle according to the region's fish 'n' chip shop owners, have a browse of the forum thread that comes with the image. More Kinder views in the Kinder Pictures album.

Next up, here's some water behaving the way you'd expect it to, and doing a very picturesque job into the bargain. For more Ullswater, Peak District and other pics, check the btraffordphotos album.

Here's somewhere you wouldn't want to find yourself when it's too wet and slippy - there's a bit of a nasty drop on each side. On the plus side, you get the kind of view you'd expect from a plane window, not a British hillside. Who needs a private jet to get above the clouds, eh? More in the Diddy album.

Guy the Combat Womble's new Wasdale album has a few pygmy waves in it, as well as a fair bit of atmosphere. It all looks appealingly brooding, and of course, nice and wet...

Moving onto slightly higher ground, and even threatening to stray a little from the theme, Steve Walton has added several new pics to the site this week, all as professional as ever. More in Steve Walton Images.

Finally, we promised you some frozen water and we weren't lying. We hear from the Peak District branch of the OM team that it's looking a bit white up in Derbyshire at the moment and as temperatures are dropping at last, there might be a bit more snow around soon, who knows. In the meantime, it's good to see Gareth Hunt's managed to find a suitably white winter walk. See Winter Walking for a second taste of his latest outing.

That's enough water for now. Thanks to everyone who's submitted photos to the gallery - we always look forward to browsing through them. All OM members have 3MB of space to upload their own pics, so keep them coming.

If you want some inspiration for places to go walking, try the routes section where a new walking or scrambling route appears by magic each week, or by courtesy of the OM routes editor, Dave Mycroft. Also, if you want to know about the latest gear to wear on the hill, try our latest gear reviews.
