The Weekly Gallery Round-Up

Last week was all about water; this week we're being a bit more picky and only taking the stuff in frozen form. It's about time things started turning white and at least winter's made a bit more of an effort on that head lately. So, here's the first properly wintry gallery round-up of the season.

The Alps have had a bit of a thin season so far, but here's Chamonix 2006 looking suitably white and picturesque. It's the only photo in the album so far, but hopefully there'll be some more where that came from...

Back to properly frozen stuff, Geoff C's photo of Thunacar Knott Tarn comes from Views from the pitch, which is mostly cloudy-white rather than icy-white. There are some fantastic inversions in there, well worth browsing.

The Wild Images album shows several recent Peak District snowscapes as well, including a few that are very hard to drive away from. It's just a shame the sign doesn't provide any hints about opening the gate ...

Finally, who'd miss out on a fell race just because of slightly inclement conditions - or a full blown blizzard? Not Andrew Terrill, by the looks of things. His Running - The Album is open to all OM members and it shows everything from those uplifting runs across moorland in glorious sunshine to the moments when you end up sprawled on the ground thinking 'it's all gone horribly wrong'.
