Glum after the Easter break? Here are a few tips to perk yourself up again.
No Monday Tip this week because, well, it's Tuesday. More to the point, it's the Tuesday after the Easter Weekend and four days off. Which means you might just very understandably feel a bit flat.
No more hills for another four days. So, because we understand, here are a few ideas to perk you up and add a shine to your day...
Plan Your Next Adventure
Don't mope around feeling lost, instead have a think about all the stuff you want to do – make a list if that helps – and start the planning now. Google for routes, information and images. Put some flesh on the bones of your idea, then get a bit more concrete, choose some dates, mail some mates, maybe buy a map or two and get planning.
Read An Inspirational Outdoors Book
It could be a new one, it could be one that's just sat on the shelf gathering dust, either way it's a brilliant escape that'll set your brain cells racing. And if you're bereft of ideas, try searching OutdoorsMagic for some inspiration.
Two cracking new reads we'd recommend are Simon Yates latest, The Wild Within and the award-winning Freedom Climbers by Bernadette McDonald – both from Vetebrate. Alternatively check out our favourite books of 2011 or our Top Climbing Books For A Dark Night selection.
Get Some Online Video Kicks
The great thing about the likes of YouTube and Vimeo is that they're stuffed full of great outdoors video. Just pop over and use the search function – 'mountains' is a goody. Or 'climbing'. Alternatively, yearn nostalgically for winter with last week's Friday Matinee selection of snowy action or search for movies or video on the site.
Check Out The OM Gallery
Fancy some visual inspiration? How about a cuppa and some great outdoors images? Head over to the Top Rated Images section of the OM Gallery and check out the highest rated outdoors photos submitted by OM members. And of course, you can share your own.
The countdown to the weekend starts now...
