New Mammoth's Tusk beer arrives just in time for Christmas.
Just back from a quick preview of Mammut's spring 2012 range – more about that tomorrow, but we came away with this special bonus prize above in the shape of two bottles of Mammoth's Tusk celebratory beer, which we're stockpiling for Christmas.
The celebration is all about the Swiss mountain brand's 150th anniversary, which is pretty impressive stuff, and the beer was brewed by the Peak District based Wincle Beer Co. with 'help' from the guys at Mammut UK in Macclesfield. Not sure what sort of 'help' that was mind, our guess is pre-production taste testing.
Hops were specially imported from Switzerland for an authentic alpine flavour and the rather cool label decribes the beer as 'An amber-coloured celebration ale, hopped with Swiss Tettnang hops. Perfect for people with a real taste for adventure'.
Unfortunately the beer isn't publically available being reserved for jammy journos, industry luminaries and the Mammut UK Christmas party we bet.
That said, the Wincle Beer Company makes other nice beers too and can be found at www.winclebeer.co.uk.
