A quick heads up on Dancing With Mountains on Radio 4 next Thursday which looks at the relationship between art and artists and mountains with Scottish poet, novelist and sometime climber Andrew Greig.

In the programme, Greig - author of Summit fever, a superb outsider's view of expedition life - spends time with a number of artists who find their inspiration in mountains including Scottish painter Rob Fairley, Chamonix-based artist and world-class alpinist Andy Parkin and Dan Shipside who, it says here, ' has fused the two activities to the point where the climbing is the art'.

Sounds like it could be a fascinating listen. It's due to air on Radio 4 at 11.30am on Thursday 6 September.
