One for the diary, Adventure
Travel Live is taking place at London's Royal
Horticultural Halls on 29-31 January 2010 and we have a special ticket
promotional price for OUTDOORSmagic users.
Doug Scott - one of the
speakers at the show - photographed on Everest in 1975
Adventure Travel Live is a show which features some great speakers
along with a variety of exhibitors specialising in off-the-beaten track
travel including trekking and adventure travel specialists.
The programme of speakers looks pretty cool and includes two different
talks from legendary mountaineer Doug
Scott, one focussing on the Everest Sout West Face
expedition where he along with Dougal Haston summited and survived a
night in snow cave high on the mountain without a sleeping bag or
oxygen.
The other is called Three Peaks and focusses on the world's three
highest mountains, Everest, K2 and Kangchenjunga. Should be amazing.
Also on the mountain front, Simon
Yates will be giving a talk titled Returning to the Void
talking about his recent mountaineering trips and also promoting an
exclusive trek with him to the Cordillera Huayhuash and Siula Grande,
the mountain from Touching The Void.
Trekkers needn't miss out either. Jim Manthorpe, a freelance travel
writer, photographer and lecturer will be talking about Trekking in
Nepal's Annapurna region.
