Alpkit Jeanius Gets Looser
New cut opens up water-resistant denim jeans to the non-matchstick limbed...

Good news from the guys at Alpkit
is that their amusing water-resistant
Jeanius jeans are now available in a regular - looser - cut
as well as the 'slim jims only' design they debuted with earlier this
year.
When we tested
the first production Jeanius back in April we gave the water-shedding
silicone-encapsulated Epic denim fabric a big thumbs up, but were a bit
less convinced by the matchstick men legs that meant our genuine 31"
test dummy ended up in 34" waist jeans and still found them tight and
funny looking.
Well, now Jeanius comes both in the skinny incarnation - left above -
and also in a new looser cut - right - which Alpkit says 'would go well
with a beanie and boulder mat'. We're guessing that they're closer to
the prototype version which we used for months and grew to love and had
fantastic mobility for those impromptu bouldering / hut-wall climbing
sessions.
The new regular fit is also darker in colour than the washed-out
slimmer fit, which you'll either like or not and is priced the same at £55 or, as
Alpkit says, a tenner less than a pair of Levi 501s.
So there you go, ace for rainy day shopping, stay drier longer and dry
faster. Available now, more information at www.alpkit.com

ordered a pair of the looser side, they are VERY loose! Baggy too. I'm sure it makes sense for waterproof trousers to have them loose enough to run off over your boots but beware. Judging by the photographs, I'd say the slimmer ones are about right.
