Ambleside Fest Set For October

Here's a quick date for your diaries - 19-26 October is the October Outdoor Fest in Ambleside.

Based around outdoor retailer Gaynor Sport, the week-long event is billed as 'the place to be for anyone with a passion for the Great Outdoors'.

The programme includes guided walks, adventure, climbing and orienteering course, in-store competitions, promotions, product-testing opportunities and more. Trail and Country Walking magazines will both be there supporting the event and celeb's like Chris Bonington and John Dunne will be on hand as will representatives from some of the UK's main outdoor brands.

It's all in a good cause too, all proceeds from the events have been pledged to the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, which is currently trying to raise a amssive £400,000 to revolutionise its opertion centre.
