Okay, I might be slightly biased as it’s my local but, the Old Hall in Whitehough nr Chinley, is having it’s annual Beer Festival this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
It’s a fantastic event, supporting numerous local micro-breweries and, having won Best Cask Pub in the East and West Midlands for the last three years, they know how to look after their beer.
It’s only a half mile walk from Chinley station, one stop under Kinder from Edale on the Sheffield to Manchester line, so, you can get some hills in your legs before rocking up to sample one or two of the more than 100 beers and ciders.
The festival will also feature live music and there will be plenty of food including a BBQ.
Don’t worry about turning up wet and muddy, they’re used to that and I know there’s a group from Glosspdale Harriers running over the tops so you definitely won’t be the muddiest or the sweatiest there.

Hopefully I’ll see some of you there and, if you see me at the bar, mine’s a pint of the specially brewed Jaipur Extra Hopped from Thornbridge.
