Armchair Adventure Racing
You can't beat a good armchair...

A fantastic opportunity for those of you who've always wanted to
get involved in adventure racing, but baulk at actually leaving the
house. Yes, this year's Karrimor International Mountain Marathon
(KIMM) which is taking place in the Lakes this weekend, will cop full bore
armchair coverage on the web.
Not only will armchair voyeurs have access to maps, reports and
photographs pretty much as it happens but even better, there are
prizes up for grabs. Better still, you can compete in the race and
STILL get involved in the competitors' class of the armchair
marathon... Fantastic.
It's all a little bit low tech mind. The instructions have a
decidedly Blue Peter-ish air to them as you need to print off a map
in four segments then stick it together with sellotape... To win the
prize, you have to identify the map locations from which certain live
photos are taken and answer six questions the answers to which are
dotted around the site.
Alternatively, you could just have a cup of tea and watch the
footie. Meanwhile, if you want to know all about the real thing, the
info's on the same site. Priceless, I know we'll be there, in the
armchair that is. To find out more click
