A taster trailer for the Alastair Lee film of Leo Houlding's Asgard Project climb is now online and it looks absolutely stunning. The full film is due to be premiered at the 2009 Kendal Mountain Film Festival on 20 November.

Asgard Project trailer

The trailer intercuts dramatic footage of Houlding and his team's sky dive into the base camp area below Mount Asgard with shots of the climbing itself in what are clearly cold and arduous conditions.  There are some stunning shots of the mountain from the air which you really do want to see.

In the event it took some 12 days of climbing with the face in shade 23 hours a day and the climbers having to cope with sub-zero temperatures and weathering severe ice storms. In the word of Al Lee:

'It has been brutal thank God we all had the right kit otherwise frost-nip and hypothermia would have had us by now.'

Absolutely AWESOME!

Saw the film on Friday night & was completely blown away. How Al Lee made such an amazing high quality film, in such difficult conditions, on such an epic climb, everything about it made you think, How insanely difficult is that!?!

Watch it, it is ace!
