New from the Cumbria Tourist Board is an outdoors forum complete with local experts to answer your technical and safety queries. Mind the tumbleweed...

Cumbria Tourist Board has launched an online outdoors forum where
users can ask questions to eight local Lake District experts in
popular outdoor fields.
No, not those sorts of fields, we're talking popular activities
like walking, climbing, scrambling, canoeing, cycling and sailing.
There's also a special 'Safety' forum for the truly paranoid among
you. Each of the eight forum sections has a designated expert drawn
from a company specialising in the activity in question, but you can
also benefit from the advice of fellow forum users, which sounds
rather familiar.
Our fave expert by the way, is the rather nicely named 'Baz
Brush', who's all set to answer your questions on canoeing.
Right now, the forum's dead quiet and all the experts are no doubt
out enjoying themselves, but if you have a specifically Lakeland
outdoors question that you want an answer to, have a look at
www.lakedistrictoutdoors.co.uk.
You can also check out details of travel and accommodation on the
site as well as finding more detailed activity information including,
in some cases, downloadable routes - lucky, lucky mountain bikers
eh...
