Autumn Footprints Back For 2008

South Derbyshire walking festival returns this September.

A quick date for your diary with the news that the "Autumn Footprints", Amber Valley and Erewash Walking Festival runs for two weeks from Saturday 13 September  to Sunday 28th September 2008.

Set in Derbyshire - the area's roughly bounded by Matlock and Alfreton to the north and Nottingham and Derby to the south - the festival is reckoned to offer a spread of walks catering for all levels of experience and fitness and will be launched by the Mayor of Amber Valley and the Deputy Mayor of Erewash  at Shipley Country Park Visitor Centre at 10am on Saturday 13 September 2008.

In total there are 34 guided walks talking place over 16 days with all the walks free to take part in. There's an emphasis on local heritage and natural history with walks taking place alongside rivers and canals as well as through towns and villages. Distances range from four miles to 12 miles and all are led by local people.
