It's 'the biggest, best and craziest mountain film festival of 2007!' It says here...

Another last minute event reminder with the news that two up and coming rock bands will be headlining the closing party at this year's Aviemore Mountain Film Festival which runs from Thursday 17 May to Sunday 20 May.

The bands, if you were wondering, are Kid Ego - high octane rock and roll it says here - and Darkwater, a Glasgow-based electro punk rock band and will be taking the stage at a party to round off the event on Saturday night.

Apparently the whole closing party shebang kicks off at 2.00pm with even more music with the two headliners due on stage at 11pm and 9.30pm respectively.

It's all part of what the organisers say is an event which will - and we quote - 'further establish Aviemore as the UK's Extreme Sports Capital and place itself firmly in poll position of festivals unafraid to throw away the boundaries of what's expected!'

To that end, there's also going to be a giant outdoor film screen featuring 'some of Europe's most extreme films' as a backdrop to the event. It's all too cool for school...

Festival Director Dave Felce says: "The opening party promises to be absolutely mind-blowing and we are really looking forward to playing host to some of the UK's best new bands. The AMFF pushes the boundaries that other outdoor festivals set and we'll continue to do so in order to be at the forefront of what we do - and keep our competitors on their toes!!"

We think he means the closing party, but hey. Anyway, the organisers strongly suggest that you cancel whatever else you have planned for the weekend and 'take a trip up to Aviemore for what promises to be the biggest, best and craziest mountain film festival of 2007!'
